The symposium is organized in conjunction with the award of the Crafoord Prize in Geosciences. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the 2022 Crafoord Prize in Geosciences to Andrew H. Knoll, Harvard University, USA “for fundamental contributions to our understanding of the first three billion years of life on Earth and life’s interactions with the physical environment through time”.
