The symposium is organized in conjunction with the award of the Crafoord Prize in Astronomy. The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awarded the 2020 Crafoord Prize in Astronomy to Eugene N. Parker (1927-2022), University of Chicago, USA, ”for pioneering and fundamental studies of the solar wind and magnetic fields from stellar to galactic scales”.
