Social Norms in Development

Social norms—shared expectations about appropriate behavior—can significantly influence economic and political outcomes. Norms affect how individuals and communities act, make decisions, allocate resources, and respond to policies. Understanding social norms is thus essential to understand social, economic and political development. It is also key for designing effective policy interventions, as policies that overlook social norms often fail or lead to unintended consequences. This one-day symposium brings together leading international and Sweden-based scholars to share their research related to social norms and development.

Following the symposium we will have a poster session with mingle. We welcome junior and established researchers alike to submit extended abstracts on projects that they would like to present in this forum.

A detailed program will be presented shortly!
