Scholarships in engineering sciences can be granted to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. In the latter category, applicants who received a PhD in the past five years are prioritised. Scholarships of more than SEK 100,000 are only granted in exceptional cases. OH (Overhead/Administration costs) will not be accepted. Scholarships are awarded for a maximum period of one year.
Scholarships are not granted for purposes that have been completed by the time the decision is made, which takes about three months after the end of the application period.
Provide the name of the head of the institute/faculty, and support your application by appending documents such as invitations, a letter from your supervisor and/or letters of recommendation. Doctoral students must state their supervisor’s name. Upload all documents in PDF format.
Available funding 2023: SEK 2,859,000
Of the available funding is:
- SEK 2,100,000 intended for “practical engineering studies abroad. Applicants must be a Swedish citizen, no more than 30 years old, possess the necessary knowledge of the English, German or French languages and have theoretical knowledge and practical experience in their branch of the engineering profession”.
- SEK 759,000 available for other purposes in Engineering sciences.

Supplementary material submitted separately, incomplete applications and/or emailed applications will not be taken in consideration. Application documents will not be returned.
Allocation
All applicants will be notified by email if their application has been approved or rejected approximately three months after the application deadline. The information will also be available on the applicant’s web account.
