Scholarships are awarded for scientific studies or continuing practical training within or outside Sweden. The total amount of SEK 1,500,000 are divided between the humanities (2 scholarships), medicine (2 scholarships) and natural sciences (2 scholarships). Please note: the amount applied for must be exactly SEK 250,000 per application. OH (Overhead/Administration costs) will not be accepted.
Applicants must have received a doctoral degree in Sweden, or be eligible for admission to doctoral studies at one of Sweden’s philosophical or medical faculties. Applicants may not be employed by the state or municipality, or be employed as a teacher in higher education. Scholarships are not granted for the purchase of materials such as e.g. laboratory equipment.
Priority will be given to recent recipients of doctoral degrees who require funding for continued research on postdoc-level at other universities, within or outside Sweden. Recent recipients of doctoral degrees here refers to doctoral degrees awarded within the last five years. Exceptionally, the research student who has established a plan for a dissertation during the application year.
Scholarships are not granted for purposes that have been completed by the time the decision is made, which takes about three months after the end of the application period.
Doctoral students must attach a signed approval from their supervisor. Researchers with a PhD must attach a signed approval from the head of department, verifying that the applicant belongs to the department, or will be if the application is granted. The applicant may also attach additional documents, such as letters of recommendations, invitations to another institution or other documents that may strengthen the application. Supplementary material submitted separately, incomplete applications and/or emailed applications will not be taken in consideration. Application documents will not be returned.
Allocation
All applicants will be notified by email if their application has been approved or rejected approximately three months after the application deadline. The information will also be available on the applicant’s web account.
