Three new members elected to the Academy

At the General Meeting on 11 November, Nikolai Piskunov, Professor of observational astrophysics at Uppsala University, was elected member of the Academy’s Class for astronomy and space science. Emmanuelle Charpentier, Professor of microbiology and Director at the Max Planck Institute for Infection Biology, Berlin, Germany, and Abdel El Manira, Distinguished Professor in neuroscience at Karolinska Institutet, were elected members of the Academy’s Class for biosciences.
