New members elected to the Academy

At the General meeting on 13 February Professor Sheila Kirkwood at the Swedish Institute of Space Physics (IRF) in Kiruna, Sweden and Ph.D. Oded Schramm at Microsoft Research Redmond, USA were elected to the Academy.

FOREIGN MEMBERS

Class for mathematics (I)
Dr. Oded Schramm is a mathematician at Microsoft Research Redmond in USA. His most important work is probably the introduction and profound study of SLE (Stochastic Loewner Evolution), which in a totally new way connects probability theory and complex analysis. This work is one of the biggest advances in probability theory in many years.
