The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences comments on the current state of knowledge in climate change. The statement was accepted by the Academy on 8 March and it is a revised version of the statement of 2009.
In September 2013, Working Group 1 (The Physical Science Basis) of the UN’s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, IPCC, published their latest assessment of the scientific literature dealing with climate change. This caused the Academy’s Class for geosciences to organise an international workshop on 11 March 2014, where some of the most important conclusions of the IPCC report was discussed. The Class then appointed a working group, chaired by Academy member Henning Rodhe, with the assignment to produce this statement.
