General announcement for social sciences

Scholarships worth up to a maximum of SEK 300,000 can be granted to doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers can be granted a maximum of SEK 500,000. In the latter category, applicants who received a PhD in the past five years will be prioritised. OH (Overhead/Administration costs) will not be accepted. Scholarships are awarded for a maximum period of one year.

Examples of projects that may be granted are:

• Costs for data collection, experiments and registry data
• Financing the final stages of PhD-studies
• Project in the border area between economics and other social sciences.

Scholarships are not granted for purposes that have been completed by the time the decision is made, which takes about three months after the end of the application period.

Doctoral students must attach a signed approval from their supervisor. Researchers with a PhD must attach a signed approval from the head of department, verifying that the applicant belongs to the department, or will be if the application is granted. The applicant may also attach additional documents, such as letters of recommendations, invitations to another institution or other documents that may strengthen the application. Available funding 2023: SEK 2,038,500

Of the available funding is: 

• SEK 1,700,000 intended for economics.
• SEK 338,500 available for other purposes in social sciences.

Allocation

All applicants will be notified by email if their application has been approved or rejected approximately three months after the application deadline. The information will also be available on the applicant’s web account.
