Cosmic Transients in the Era of Large Surveys

The rapid development of dedicated large surveys for time-domain astronomy has revolutionized the discovery rate of cosmic explosions and other transient phenomena. The symposium, on June 13-14, collects observers and theorists to discuss the implications for astrophysics, cosmology and fundamental physics, as well as the open questions in the field.

A programme will be available soon.

If you are interested to give a contributed talk, please send a title and an abstract,
at latest April 15, to: peter.branden@kva.se

Invited speakers

  • Selma de Mink (Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics)
  • Avishay Gal-Yam (Weizmann Institute of Science)
  • Suvi Gezari (Johns Hopkins University)
  • Anna Ho (Cornell University)
  • Thomas Janka (Max Planck Institute for Astrophysics)
  • Mansi Kasliwal (California Institute of Technology)
  • Nial Tanvir (University of Leicester)
