Every year, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences awards many different kinds of Scholarships, grants, scientific exchange and research fellow positions in most scientific fields.
Scholarships
In Astronomy and Space Sciences, Biosciences, Chemistry, Engineering Sciences, Geosciences with Geography, Humanities, Mathematics, Medical Sciences, Physics and Social Sciences, a general application is made. In addition to the funding available by those means, special foundations and research exchanges are allocated in the same fields.

International research exchanges
In most fields in Natural Sciences, Scholarships and Fellowships for research periods in Japan (research exchange and Postdoctoral Fellowships) or Israel (the Müller Travel Fellowship Fund) may be applied for.

Wallenberg Academy Fellows
The Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation has in cooperation with five Swedish royal academies and the Swedish universities established a new career programme for young researchers. The purpose is to give the most promising young researchers in all disciplines a work situation that enables them to focus on their projects and address difficult, long-term research questions.
