Wind power
Wind power provides emission-free electricity and will play an important role in future electricity supply. There are, however, limitations connected with its variations with time of the electricity produced from a wind power plant.
The Energy Committee expects an obvious expansion of wind power in the decades ahead. Globally, it is assumed to increase from 260 TWh of electricity in 2008 to some 5,000 TWh in 2050. This represents an annual increase of 8% on average. Arguments for and against wind energy are discussed in “Statement on Wind Power”.
