Post Doc Scholarships to Japan FY 2014

General announcement for Physics

Closing date for applications: 31 January 2016.

Next call will open in October 2015.

Scholarships up to a SEK 100,000 maximum can be allocated to PhD students.  Postdoctoral researchers can be allocated up to SEK 300,000, payable for a maximum of one year.

The institutes of The Royal Swedish Academy of  Sciences can apply for a two-year grant of up to SEK 600,000 for the purpose of researcher recruitment. This grant is applied for by the director of the institute concerned. An application of this kind may be submitted every two years.

Application

Rules for PhD students and researchers
A link to the application site is provided below. In the system, the user can create an account, enter personal particulars and upload the requisite annexes in electronic form. Finally, the user shall print out a form, sign it, get it attested by the head of the institute concerned and send it to the address specified on the form. The form shall arrive at the academy no later than seven days after the closing date for applications. Please note that you must submit the application electronically first, before you can print out the form for signing.

Supplementary material submitted separately, incomplete applications and/or faxed or emailed applications will not be considered. Application documents will not be returned.

Allocation

About three months after the application period ends, all applicants can see, through their web accounts, which applicants have been successful. During the application process, applicants can also see the progress of their applications. Only applicants who are awarded Scholarships or grants will be contacted in writing by the Academy.
